Obituary

Our beloved mother Norma Ann (Dini) Tonietto, 88, of Pompano Beach, Florida passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 27th, 1936, the youngest daughter of Atilio and Lillian Sorini Dini.

Norma grew up in a thriving Italian Neighborhood in the Grant Works area of Cicero, Il. Many of the friends and neighbors made in her early youth continued to be lifelong friends. Norma Graduated from Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park, IL in 1953. After Graduation she worked in Downtown Chicago until she married the love of her life, Ronald Tonietto in 1956.

In 1968 they moved to the Hawthorne Neighborhood of Cicero and raised their four children right across the street from Columbus School. As her children grew older, she found her happy place as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Wagih Nessim in the Italian Neighborhood on 24th and Oakley. Norma translated Italian between Dr. Nessim and his patients for the next 13 years.

She continued to be close with her friend groups as they formed "clubs" like The Seca's, Nazareth Club, Fireman Wives Club, multiple Bowling Leagues, and many others. In 1990, Norma and Ronald moved to Pompano Beach, Florida and spent the next 30+ years enjoying the beautiful weather the state had to offer. Norma continued her love of community and volunteered at Holy Cross Hospital and worked for Dr.'s Orlando Milan and Shagen Abovyan.

She also attended Saint Coleman's Catholic Church and was immersed in their Bible Study programs, volunteering for Church
Events and gathering for Bunco Night. What truly made Norma special was her love and devotion to Faith and Family. She generously served her Church and Family with an everlasting love. She knew the names and happenings of those she loved and all their friends, keeping up to date with them with weekly phone calls, Facebook updates, emails and even text messages.

Norma also traveled to be with her loved ones for EVERY special occasion. She made you feel special the moment you met her and if she teased you or gave you that beautiful smile, you know she had just made you part of her Family. She is survived by her step-sister Lita Giuntoli, four children Dianne M. Tonietto of Naperville, IL; Suzanne A. Tonietto of Pompano Beach FL; Paul M. Tonietto and his wife, Maria of Downers Grove, IL; and Leanne A. Tonietto Edwards, and her husband, Michael of Portsmouth NH; her grandchildren Hillary, Theodore,
Arianna, Haley, Victoria, Alexandria, Olivia, Julianne, Nathan, Zachary, and CJ; six great-grandchildren
many nieces and nephews. Norma was predeceased by her father Atilio (1947), mother Lillian (1998),
