Jason Alexander Wray
September 14, 1973 – December 3, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Alexander Wray on December 3, 2024, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jason's life was marked by his kind heart, vibrant personality, and enduring struggles with mental illness. He leaves behind a family who loved him fiercely, including his father Fritz Wray, stepmother Lilli Mellenberg, brother Derek Wray, sister-in-law Judi Wray, niece Amber Filkins, and nephews Alex Wray and Zachary Wray, as well as countless beloved friends and colleagues.
Born in the heart of autumn on September 14, 1973, Jason brought joy and warmth to everyone who knew him. He possessed a unique zest for life, whether it was exploring his passions for technology, indulging in great food and wine, or working with pride as a dedicated and caring waiter for many years. Jason was a lifelong learner, deeply curious about the world, and often amazed those around him with his wit and knowledge.
Jason adored music, travel, and exploring the unknown, but he was most admired for his genuine kindness and compassion toward others. He held a special bond with his family, always finding joy in traditions like eating crabs together or making their mother's cherished Hawaiian salad during the holidays.
In his later years, Jason's battle with mental illness became overwhelming, but his fight was marked by courage and the love of those who stood by him. Despite the challenges he faced, Jason's legacy is one of tenderness, intelligence, and the moments of brightness he brought to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Jason will be remembered for his compassion, his ability to make others smile, and his strength in the face of adversity. He is now at peace, free from the struggles that marked his later years.
A private service will be held in his memory, and his family invites those who knew him to honor Jason's life by extending kindness and understanding to those battling mental illness. Contributions in his name can be made to organizations supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Jason will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
